The front steps to the Hall are quite steep so access for people with disabilities is via the back door. Notice should be given to the office so that ramps can be put down.
The ground floor of the Hall is all on one level. However to get to the Ballroom visitors with disabilities should go out the way they came in and then there is vehicular access to get to the Ballroom, or a good push up a bit of a slope. Once at the Ballroom, where refreshments are served, access is good, as well as to the toilets.
Most of the Garden can be visited by wheelchair users and there are some steps which can be avoided if necessary. Obviously if the ground is wet this may be more of a challenge as there are no solid paths, it is all on grass.
At Walcot Hall, you can select from three indoor venues and various outdoor options, all licensed for civil marriages. This enables couples to hold their complete wedding festivities within the Walcot estate.
Additionally, there’s the opportunity for a religious ceremony at the nearby village church in Lydbury North, half a mile away.
Your Dream Wedding Weekend
Welcoming Your Guests
Here you are, planning your wedding. What would you dream of sharing with your nearest and dearest? Guests arrive on the evening before your big day, check in to their unique accommodation before gathering together for welcome drinks and supper at our pub, The Powis Arms or for a BBQ within the estate grounds to kick off your wedding celebrations.
Wedding Morning Serenity
On the morning of the wedding, guests can explore the extensive grounds and cook up a hearty breakfast in their accommodation before leisurely getting ready and making the short journey to the designated ceremony area (be that the Main Hall, within the beautiful private gardens or in the village church at Lydbury North).
Saying “I Do” in Style
Following your ceremony, enjoy a drinks reception; Pimms, Prosecco, Peroni…you choose. Drinks can be served along with canapés in one of the fantastic private garden areas, where we can also offer table tennis and lawn games to entertain your guests. The drinks reception is a great time for guests to mingle, photographs to be taken and for everyone to really relax into the day’s festivities.
Reception Revelry
Now it’s time for your grand entrance! Enter the beautiful turquoise Ballroom where guests will be seated, ready to welcome you for your wedding reception. After your meal and speeches have come to an end, we invite everyone to stretch their legs and refresh with a drink in the Anteroom, courtyard or gardens, while we turn the Ballroom around for the evening reception; let the party commence!
Creating Memories Together
We can promise a stay full of fun, character, surprise and intrigue for you and all of your guests. Having the majority of your wedding party with you for the whole weekend (we can accommodate up to 110 guests onsite in our holiday cottages and glamping accommodation) means you can utilise the space the estate has to offer and make the most of your time at one of England’s finest wedding venues.
