There is an accessible toilet. Staff are available at all times. Be aware, Nantclwyd y Dre is situated at the top of a steep hill in the centre of Ruthin. Nantclwyd y Dre offers a unique exploration of over 500 years of history, from medieval up to the 20th century. Step through the seven ages of this beautifully restored Grade I listed house as it reveals the lives of its residents. Begin your journey in 1435 and learn about how the building expanded from a weaver’s hall house, to a 17th century lawyer’s townhouse and a Victorian school for young girls.
The Lord’s Garden is a beautifully tranquil space right in the heart of Ruthin. Bring a picnic or simply take a stroll through lush greenery, vibrant colours with backdrop views of the Clwydian Range and Ruthin Castle.
Young visitors can become “Young Explorers” with our specially designed trails and borrow bags that will help them discover more about Nantclwyd y Dre’s history and nature.
Our “bat cam” is a great opportunity to observe our special maternity roost of Lesser horseshoe, Long-eared brown and Pipistrelle bats.
If you are looking for a unique gift, our shop is stocked with products made by local artisans, including a selection of jams and chutneys made with fruit that was harvested from the Lord’s Garden.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome throughout the gardens and inside the house on a short lead.
Mae Nantclwyd y Dre yn cynnig cyfle unigryw i archwilio mwy na 500 mlynedd o hanes, o’r cyfnod canoloesol i’r 20fed ganrif. Camwch drwy saith oes y tŷ rhestredig Gradd I hwn sydd wedi’i adnewyddu’n hyfryd, wrth iddo ddatgelu bywydau ei breswylwyr. Dechreuwch eich taith ym 1435 a dysgu am sut wnaeth yr adeilad ehangu o fod yn dŷ gwehydd i fod yn dŷ tref cyfreithiwr o’r 17eg ganrif ac ysgol Fictoraidd i ferched ifanc.
Mae Gardd yr Arglwydd yn le hyfryd o dawel yng nghanol Rhuthun. Dewch â phicnic neu ewch am dro trwy wyrddni hardd, lliwiau llachar gyda golygfeydd o Fryniau Clwyd a Chastell Rhuthun yn gefndir.
Gall ymwelwyr ifanc fod yn “Archwilwyr Ifanc” gyda’n llwybrau a bagiau benthyg wedi’u dylunio’n arbennig i’w helpu i ddysgu mwy am hanes a natur Nantclwyd y Dre.
Mae ein camera ystlumod yn gyfle gwych i weld ein clwyd arbennig o ystlumod pedol lleiaf, ystlumod hirglust ac ystlumod lleiaf.
Os ydych chi’n chwilio am anrheg unigryw, mae ein siop yn llawn cynnyrch gan gynhyrchwyr lleol, gan gynnwys dewis o jamiau a siytni wedi’u gwneud gyda ffrwythau a gafodd eu cynaeafu o Ardd yr Arglwydd.
