The hotel is open all year round apart from Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day also when the hotel has exclusive private bookings, check with the hotel first.

The Library Bar is open to members of the public resident and non-resident – 11am-11pm

Function Rooms are available to view unless in private use, check with reception on arrival.

This grand and regal room is perfect for larger group events or weddings. With its high ceilings and stunning historical features, the Garter Suite can accommodate up to 120 guests, making it ideal for both formal dinners and larger celebrations.

2. The Barons Hall
One of the most iconic spaces at Lumley Castle, the Barons Hall boasts stone walls and a striking fireplace. It’s great for medium-sized gatherings, seating up to 100 guests for a banquet-style event.

3. The Scarbrough Room
A more intimate setting, the Scarbrough Room offers an elegant space for smaller events. . It’s perfect for private dinners, smaller parties, or meetings.

4. The Library Bar
For a relaxed and cozy setting, the Library Bar is ideal for smaller group gatherings or informal meetings.

Educational Visits

At Lumley Castle, school visits with the Lord Chamberlain offer an immersive educational experience that brings history to life. Students are invited to step back in time and explore the rich history of the 14th-century castle through engaging activities led by the Lord Chamberlain, a character representing a key figure in the castle’s heritage.
