Award winning Leighton Hall is the lived-in house of the famous furniture making Gillow dynasty. Unravel the fascinating past of this ancient, Lancashire family, and wander through the spectacular grounds and pretty gardens. Leighton also has a children’s play area, caterpillar maze, woodland walk, tree face trail and charming tea rooms.
Leighton’s history is brought to life by the enthusiasm of the guides. There are no roped off areas. Tours are informal and entertaining and visitors are encouraged to sit on the furniture and get involved.
Leighton Hall can be found in the north of Lancashire, just outside Carnforth, a few miles from the city of Lancaster nestling in a bowl of parkland against a backdrop of English Lake District hills. Open from May to September to the public, but pre booked groups are welcome all year round.
