George Villiers grew up in an ancient Manor House before marrying Katherine Manners from nearby Belvoir Castle and becoming the 1st Duke of Buckingham. It was changed in the 18th century and the stream was widened to create a chain of lakes( Georgian style,),with a Venetian window on the north side. Ironstone with several walled interconnected gardens.
The Honourabe Victoria Westropp inherited the property from her Godmother Miss Monica Sherriffe in 1999 whose family lived there after World War 1.
