The Hall and Park have been in the Elwes Family since 1931 when the family relocated from Great Billing, Northamptonshire but they have had connections with Lincolnshire since 16th Century.
Captain Jeremy Elwes and his wife Clare opened the grounds to visitors in 1970 with a vision of promoting and encouraging a wider understanding of natural history, the arts and rural crafts. At its heart, the Park offers visitors an enjoyable place to relax and experience nature and the countryside.
There are beautiful lakeside walks, a contemporary walled garden, enchanted wood, children’s playground, carp feeding jetty and a variety of animals and birds.
The Hall itself remains a private family home. The present custodians, Gervase and Clare Elwes realise how fortunate they are to live in such wonderful surroundings. After celebrating the Park’s 50th anniversary, they are determined to continue sharing all that Elsham has to offer.
