Ideal for an escape to the wild Pennine moorland, Eggleston Hall overlooks the river Tees. There are 9 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms (several ensuite) making an ideal place to celebrate a family gathering or simply a reunion of old friends for up to 20 guests. The bedrooms are all individually decorated with a mix of double and twin rooms.
Downstairs there’s a large kitchen with a warming Aga beside the dining room with its long table with seating for all. There is a drawing room and a sitting room both with open log fires. For entertainment, there’s a full size snooker table in the Billiard Room as well as table tennis and table football for younger spirits.
Eggleston is ideally situated for walking either the Teesdale or part of the Pennine Way. There are idyllic woodland walks and a walled garden (open to visitors). Local castles such as Raby or Barnard castle are nearby. The Bowes Museum and Durham Cathedral are just a short drive away.

By car, Eggleston Hall is signed from the B6278 in the village of Eggleston. The village is located 6 miles from Barnard Castle. It’s around 30 minutes via the A66 from junction 60 on the A1 at Scotch Corner and 45 minutes from junction 38 off the M6 at Tebay.
By train Darlington station (30 minutes by car) is two and a half hours from London. Teesside or Newcastle are the nearest airports.
