Eggleston Hall
Ashlar mansion on the site of a manor house forfeited to the Crown by Charles Neville, 6th Earl of Westmorland, for his role in the 1569 Rising of the North.
Barnard Castle, Co Durham, DL12 0AG
There has been a house on the site since the middle of the seventeenth century, but the present house was remodelled around 1810 by Charles Watson for William Hutchinson. The estate put up for sale after the Great War and Sir William Gray, a shipbuilder from Hartlepool, purchased the house for his son as a welcome home present. The house has subsequently been used as a cookery school and the location for the Ladette to Lady television programme.
