The seat of the Brudenell family since 1514, dating back to the fourteenth century.
A minimum of ten rooms are open to the public, each with its unique style. Deene Park has a mixture of furnishings and family possessions full of sentimental value collected over many years. The unique blend provides the visitor with an impressive yet intimate ambiance; a family home spanning the lifetime of many generations.
The gardens, like the house, have undergone many changes over the centuries, but have never looked better than they do today. The formal gardens on the south side of this beautiful historic house give way to a vista of parkland and lakes linked by a canal; at its narrowest junction the canal is spanned by a fine stone bridge reminiscent of pictures in fairy tale books. Interested visitors can find the information on the history and development of the gardens in the Summer House.
It is to be hoped that with the help of visitors the house and garden can be preserved and continue as a home lived in by the family who have cherished it since 1514.
Please note: The information on the Historic Houses website is advisory, but please always check the website of the house or garden you intend to visit before travelling.
