Built in 1612 by Sir Edward Trevor and still lived in by the Trevor family, all our visitors comment on the warmth of welcome and homely feel of Brynkinalt. The clever use of glass cupolas keep the house full of light and our sustainable biomass heating ensures that the house is warm and cosy.
Available for events
The house is available for a wide range of bespoke bookings and makes a spectacular venue for all sorts of celebrations – be it private or corporate events.
Thinking of organising an event to mark a birthday, anniversary, family reunion or maybe a work awards ceremony….Why not wow your guests and create magical memories by organising a special event surrounded by the beautiful setting and history with links to the Duke of Wellington and Sir John Trevor, Speaker of the House of Commons.
The estate straddles the Welsh Shropshire border and is located at Chirk, just off the A483 and so is easily accessible. Just over an hour from Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham, but set overlooking the stunning Ceiriog Valley, there are plenty of opportunities to explore the countryside of both North Wales and England, as well as plenty of lovely walks straight from the front door.
Our strap line of Restoration, Conservation and Heritage extends beyond buildings, and we are also busy restoring the wider landscape, historic park and working farmland. All in hand land is now organic for our own dairy herd and we are using regenerative farming methods and herbal leys wherever possible. We have been delighted to see that the local wildlife is appreciating this with the return of barn owls, hares and hedgehogs as well as numerous birds and pollinators.
The house makes a wonderful peaceful setting for a blue sky thinking business meetings and team building days away from office distractions or of course a venue for entertaining clients which is guaranteed to get your guests talking and has been described as a hidden gem.
Guests can enjoy drinks in the stunning Drawing Room and Conservatory before crossing the length of the longest enfilade in Wales to the beautiful dining room. Larger groups can dine in the magnificent galleried Great Hall. A range of outside caterers can be supplied to provided fine dining to suit all budgets.
We are also developing several picturesque holiday cottages around the estate and visitors to these will have the opportunity for a bespoke visit to the house and garden.
