Boughton House is a truly stunning venue for weddings, often referred to as The English Versailles, it is a location unlike any other. With the range of locations on offer you can envisage your family and friends in beautiful unique surroundings for your special day.
The Great Hall
Couples can follow in the footsteps of Marius and Cosette from the Oscar-winning film Les Misérables, and tie the knot in Boughton’s Great Hall under Louis Chéron’s 300-year-old ‘Marriage of Hercules and Hebe’ ceiling. The Great Hall is simply one of the most beautiful rooms in the county; its intricately painted ceiling, handsome tapestries, family portraits and grand fireplace create an unforgettable atmosphere for you to share your ceremony with your loved ones. The Hall comfortably seats up to a 100.
The Tapestry Suite
Nestled in the heart of the historic 18th century stables, the Tapestry Suite is available for the exclusive use of you and your guests. You will find period features working harmoniously with a modern and practical wedding venue. Ideal for your wedding dinner and to dance the night away. Seats up to 100, the function room includes a separate bar and in-house catering facilities.
Boughton is rare among stately homes, as we are licensed to conduct ceremonies outdoors in the colonnade. So, if you are thinking of a summer ceremony, do consider holding it here. The colonnade is flanked by two grand wings of the House, a simply glorious setting. This is just the beginning of what Boughton has to offer with the surrounding parkland and wider Estate providing some of the country’s most beautiful landscapes for your photographs.
Larger parties can enjoy the late 17th, early 18th century Great Court, which provides the perfect setting for marquee-based events for up to 750 guests. Located next to the impressive Grand Etang.
For a smaller, more intimate wedding, the Little Hall provides a stunning backdrop.
