Enjoy the fabulous treasures of Boughton House! Our knowledgeable guides will help you to understand 500 years of heritage, history and people that culminated in the house and collection we have today. In August this can be enjoyed free flow or by guided tour. At the weekends the Great Hall Experience is self-led with helpful guides located in several rooms. On weekdays it will be guided tour (Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays).
The State Rooms Tour (Guided)*
Follow in the footsteps of William III and enjoy the splendour of the State Apartments that were created for his visit in 1695. The fabulous ceilings of the Staterooms, painted by Louis Chéron have all now undergone extensive restoration and conservation for your enjoyment.
The Books, Beds and Beyond Tour (Guided)*
An eclectic and adventurous tour of the library, bedrooms, backstairs, kitchen and other hidden areas of the House.

Historic Houses members visit for free when choosing one of our main tours, the gardens and exhibition. This does not include entry outside normal opening times or during events. Historic Houses members should book using the online booking system and choose the Free Entry option. They should then enter their Historic Houses membership number and bring their card with them.

A variety of group tours are available at Boughton House and cater to a range of interests. We understand that every group is different, so we aim to make your visit as enjoyable as possible by tailoring your tour to suit your requirements. We welcome groups to the House and gardens all year round for pre-booked tours. All group tours should be pre-booked to avoid disappointment.
Highlights of the collection include Van Dycks, El Greco, Sèvres Porcelain and Boulle furniture.
Ground floor only (13 rooms, approximately 1 hour).
The ground floor tour encompasses many of the major rooms such as the Great Hall and is perfect for those with a general interest in the rich history and art of Boughton.
Kings Tour: Over 2 floors (20 rooms, approximately 1.5 hours)
The more comprehensive “King’s Tour” is designed for the enthusiast and also ascends the grand entrance staircase to include the High Pavilion and State Apartments created for the visit of William III.
We welcome school groups to Boughton at any time of year, subject to a prior booking.

After Junction 7 (A14)
Follow A4300 towards “Corby/Stamford” at first roundabout after leaving A14, “Boughton House” is signposted on roadside Brown tourist sign – follow these – just after the 2nd roundabout you will see the House in the distance down an avenue of trees to the right of the road – continue down this road to the village of ‘Geddington’ and continue through to the village until you see the large roadside Brown tourist sign – where you turn right into the village. Continue past the Eleanor Cross and out of the village towards the village of Grafton Underwood and continue for approximately half a mile till you arrive at the main silver gates.
Drive through the park until you reach the crossroads and follow the signage to the main car park to the East of the House.
