Hedingham’s Easter Week is nearly here!
Visitors to Hedingham Castle in Essex will have plenty to do over the Easter weekend, and there’s something for the entire family to enjoy.
Easter Trail: Monday 11th – Wednesday 13th April
Get outside with a nature-inspired trail then head into the Castle for some fascinating fables with an award-winning storyteller.
Collect your activity sheet on arrival and enjoy exploring the Hedingham grounds, hunting for hidden creatures and picking up fun facts along the way. Can you find them all? Complete the trail and collect your prize from the café!
Throughout the day, on the hour, join award-winning storyteller, the Yarnsmith of Norwich, in the Tapestry Room of the Castle for some captivating tales of times gone by. A wonderful addition for children and adults alike! Storytelling sessions are included in ticket price.
The Castle will be open including the café, serving some delicious Easter treats. Picnics welcome.
Spring Joust: Easter Bank Holiday Weekend – Sunday 17th & Monday 18th April
The Castle grounds will be filled with medieval magic as the Knights of Middle England join us to battle in front of the ancient Keep over the Easter Weekend. With two Jousts to enjoy each day, alongside plenty of fun activities and displays, there is something for everyone. Enjoy a variety of pursuits including Falconry, musicians, archery and much more, as well as food stalls serving a variety of delicious lunches and snacks. This really is a fantastic day out for all the family!
Escape Room – The King’s Lost Jewels: Open on selected dates in the Easter Holidays
An immersive Escape Room set INSIDE Hedingham Castle!
Famous treasure hunter and historian, George Alderman, is rumoured to have found King John’s long lost jewels. His collection of historical items is said to hold the key to unlocking the secrets of the infamous Magna Carta Barons and lead directly to a hidden holding place for the treasure! Can you find it before it’s too late and the secret is lost forever? Work as a team to crack clues and solve puzzles in this unique escape experience. Available for groups of 2-8 players.
